The book Environmental and Energy Policy and the Economy: Volume 1, Edited by Matthew J. Kotchen, James H. Stock, and Catherine D. Wolfram is .   Energy Policy Lighthouses: The Little Green Book By many measures, the world is still in the early stages of a deep and profound transformation in energy, and industrial and agricultural processes. The aim of that transition is to achieve new policy goals for modern societies – among them, deep cuts in carbon dioxide and other warming gases.

Sustainable energy policies should ensure all consumers can afford enough energy to meet their basic needs. All options to reduce greenhouse gas emissions should comply with environmental regulations. They should also be cost-effective. To meet these standards, policymakers should ensure that policies: are integrated into a least-cost policy. Our portfolio ranges from books on the technical and economic know-how of the energy industry for daily professional and academic use, to scientific studies on fossil fuels and nuclear energy, specialist articles on renewable energy sources and journals with current articles on energy policy.

The book?s strategy is to devote a chapter to a single aspect of energy policy (electricity pricing, for example) and weave within it a narrative of concurrent events in the three countries. In some cases policies in one country have had a clear effect on those of another; in other cases one country?s energy policy has developed as if it were.
